The Client


International schools in Malaysia are often renowned and associated with globally recognised academic curriculum such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and more. These are popular syllabus choices among parents to enrol their children into English-speaking countries such as the US, UK and Australia for further studies. 


Our client, Maverick International School, provides affordable Cambridge schooling (IGCSE) from age 12 to 17. Currently serving up to 1,000 students over the last decade, they strive to deliver not only academic excellence but also essential soft skills to raise future-ready professionals. As 91% of parents factor in extra-curricular activities into their choice of school for their children, Maverick International School also ensures that each student takes part in outdoor activities regularly for an overall academic experience.


The Challenge


Education of the next generation is vital, and the demand for international schools has been growing. The number of students in international schools in Malaysia has risen 67% within the last decade, with 111,185 students registered as of 2025. Currently, there are over 180 international schools established in Malaysia, raising the saturation point in the market. 


International schools rely on positive word of mouth alongside strong digital exposure to stay competitive. However, most institutions do not have (or lack) a dedicated in-house marketing team, with a majority of institutions preferring to outsource digital marketing and productions to external agencies. Maverick International School had shared with us that they struggle with limited resources and are topped with a multitude of responsibilities that limit them from telling their school’s story. Thus, Pixel Pictures Production comes into play to unfold what Maverick International School has to offer for not only students, but for prospecting parents.

Our full-spectrum production covered the necessary year-long activities that the school ran such as Sports Day, Graduation Gala, Graduation Portraiture, Company Trip, and Staff Award Dinner. With the recurring trust in each project, we build and streamline workflows for Maverick International School, making it more accessible for them to run events and activities with a dedicated production vendor – us! This allowed us to apply three important aspects for a brand across the digital stream: efficiency, consistency and authenticity.
